It is unknown as to why the Raiders do the horrendous acts they do in the wasteland. Some theorize that they were just too broken by the wasteland itself and find enjoyment in murder and rape, though some, like PH's Morning Glory, theorize that it's the cause of a brain rotting disease.
Whatever the case, a Raider is a pony best killed, as they mostly are beyond help. However, despite their cannibalistic ways and preying on the helpless, their weapons and clothing are severely poor, making them but nuisances to anyone capable in combat.
